HEY GUYS! New info on the 1.50 Patch and also other games from Dice/EA!! Here is a picture of our new upcoming map! The map was originally called Shangai Showdown as the name was leaked, however, they claim they will be changing it. There are low walls around the flags and this will hopefully be a very fun map that we will definitely try out! ----------------------------------------------------------------UPDATE----------------------------------------------------------- New info from an interview with DICE The map, the name not yet released, accompanying the Patch 1.5 is designed to be intense like Karkand, but huge in a Chinese setting. DICE is putting the finishing touches on the BF2 1.5 Patch Beta which is due out early this next year. Aerial combat between the J10 and the F35 is being balanced by the reducing the turning ability of the J10. BF2 server security and stability are being enhanced and a new account verification process to reduce name/ID spoofing will be included in the Patch. In addition, the developers are closing off some of the hacks to employ improper commander assets. DICE is always looking to push the limits in game developing. One example is Battlefield’s 64 player limit which is still one of the largest player counts on FPS servers. The minimum specifications required for a computer system to successfully run a video game will always be increasing. We want to make sure as many people as possible get to experience and enjoy our games. Our next release will not be at Battlefield 2 minimum specification levels, but it also won’t demand the highest-end machine on the market either. DICE is not ruling out a future release with a World War I, World War II, Korean War, or Vietnam War theme. They are looking at the conflict with the biggest appeal to their core players. They "try to listen to their players..." PC gaming and Battlefield are a big part of DICE's history and they intend to "remain faithful to the roots of Battlefield." There are new features planned for future releases which include new first person animation and destructible scenery. Typically, first person views are camera pivots. In Mirror Edge by DICE, they used a more organic/natural movements. The interviewer from Total Battlefield phrased a questioned specifically mentioning Sir Community, Project Reality, and Forgotten Hope asking of their impact on the Battlefield series. DICE responded, "The modding community has been a massive boost to Battlefield over the years ..." Battlefield 2142 included content from modders one of which was Sir Community. "The modding community is an area we would like to support more in the future." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A new patch but again, the lower end computers will be left in the dark unfortunately. Over on the EA UK forums, a DICE employee posted some details about the upcoming Battlefield 2 v1.5 patch. According to the post, a public beta is planned before Christmas. We also hear more information will be coming next week. Yep there will be a public Beta before final so you can see what we have been working on. Some things you'll see/experience and other things you won't as its behind the scenes to secure Battlefield 2 accounts and playing experiences. The beta would be for everyone that wants to install it, the more people that do the better feedback we get and we don't have an update 1.30 again. That update alone set us on the road of public beta to stop it from happening in another update. We have spent time looking into the attacks and implemented short term solutions with the help of GameSpy to limit the impact of stats padding and leaderboard abuse. Other issues have been found to be game and server based, which is where Update 1.50 comes in. what Battlefield 2 1.50 will contain a number of security updates, including the following: - Server crashing – We have worked with the issues causing servers to crash, which has caused problems for the community (especially those who rent ranked servers). - Name/ID spoofing – Extra steps have been implemented to ensure the soldier being used belongs to the right account. - Commander assets – This is to stop the excessive spawning of multiple crates, UAVs or vehicles. Hey guys! Sorry for the long delay in my blog but there has been lots going on! First of all I'd like to give a big fat thank you to everyone who's been involved with the BF2 community. I thank you all for being loyal members and visiting the site and coming on the server. Thank you to our contributors for donating money and helping us a LOT. Thank you to all the BF2 players who visit our site and bring up our site hits to an astonishing number. Thank you to all those who have made an account on our website and last but not least, thank you ALL for being a part of our great community we have here. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I'd like to just list a few accomplishments we've recently reached: Highest amount of donations in one month - $140 Highest amount donated by a single person - $100 Current amount of members registered - 230 Highest number of hits on website in a day - 1697 Highest amount of donaters in one month - 3 Also a few others: Our server goes from 0-6 within 1-10 minutes. Our server is occupated from 15-26 slots on a regular basis during the day A lot of the times there is more than 5 people on the site We have 1-5 new site members every week and many more! These accomplishments were due to all the members of our community taking part. Whether you played on our server, donated money, visited the site or even asked someone to go on the server on X-Fire. Together as a team, we can do anything guys. Again thank you all for all the good times and the many more to come in the near future. A few things I wanted to adress real quickly: Posting in the forums is REAL important guys. There are still a LOT of members not posting often or not posting at all. Checking the site as well. You guys should check the site at least once a day for 5-10 mins. Welcoming our guests is HUGE. We do a good job being nice but it's not nearly good enough. I wanna see some =AOD= spirit. I'd like to see people showing INTEREST in our guests not only on the site but especially in the server over the mic. Communication yet again. Let's get talking guys. We're good friends. We love each other. Show it please. Being a role model. If we want others to follow rules, we gotta be good role models. Keep the language to a minimum. Don't insult others. When taking care of an issue with a decent person, talk professionally and take care of the issue in a nice and calm manner. Teamwork as well. Let's try to see more talking and helping each other out. Pay attention to who needs what around you. Drop med and ammo packs by your SL when you spawn. Give ammo or meds to players even if they don't request it. Let's see more =AOD= members being commanders. Let's see some division between the squads. Open up your squads and invite everyone until your squad is as full as it can get. FIND new people. Please do the things listen above guys. It's real important and the clan runs off of these basic roots. Please look out for who doesn't post and just get em in the habit. It's really rude in a way when you don't post plus it is a requirement to be in the clan and we WILL kick people out if they don't. It's a serious matter. If you don't care about posting in the forums, you shouldn't be here in the first place. Again, please try to be open and find NEW people that are good people. Bond as much as you can with everyone. To finish it up, I just would like you guys to read the In-Game Admin shortcut thread I made in the private =AOD= section. Remember admining is a DUTY. NOT something you choose to take on. Also PLEASE come to ME to become an admin immediately. Thank you all so much again. Happy Holidays to everyone. The 1.5 Patch for BF2 is said to be out by December 31.
